What Is Large Format Printing?

The easiest way to imagine large format printing is to picture a large billboard that you might see across your city. It is essentially a very large piece of paper with different images printed onto it.
Large format printing allows business to print their designs, graphics, advertising, logos and more onto large rolls of paper or any other desired materials.
The printer used during this process is much larger than any other commercial printer, which is why Impressu can help your business with high quality large format printing that delivers the highest possible impact.

The Printing Process

This will vary depending on the type of printer and materials being used. However, the basic process involves creating the design, converting the design into a PDF, printing the design on the chosen material, adding any additional finishing touches, and then making sure that the final piece meets the required quality control standards.
At Impressu, we implement the latest printing technologies, which means that we can carry out large format printing more effectively and efficiently.

FAQS

What is a large format print?

A large format print refers to any printed material that exceeds standard sizes, typically A2 (420 x 594 mm) or larger. It’s used for signage, posters, banners and marketing displays. These sizes allow your graphics to be viewed clearly from a distance.

Is large format bigger than full frame?

In printing, large format refers to print sizes that are significantly bigger than standard commercial printing. The term “full frame” is a photography term referring to a camera sensor size and isn’t directly comparable to print dimensions. So, in the context of printing, large format simply means producing oversized prints, such as posters, banners, signage and other large visual displays.

What is the difference between medium format and large format?

Medium format refers to mid-sized camera sensors or prints. Large format printing refers to much bigger outputs, used for commercial signs, posters and banners.
